I'm always happy to see an email from Kevin J. Kennedy in my inbox. I remember that I really liked 100 Word Horrors part 1. I was so surprised by the great quality in the stories, while they only last a page or a bit more than a page. I love the stories that reveal something creepy or something extra in the final sentence.
I love the forewords that Kevin J. Kennedy writes for his books. It's a personal note from the author and that's where the book starts for me. Some acknowledgements or forewords are so boring to me and I usually skip through, but not with Kevin's forewords. His books start with the foreword. It comes from the heart and I can feel that through the words
What I'll always keep saying about short stories is that it takes time to totally lose myself in a book, and the short stories are just too short for me to accomplish that. I feel like it will always be that way for me, and I'm pretty certain that 4 stars is the highest rating a short story book can get from me.
What's so fun about the very short stories is how creative and shocking it can be! It's mind blowing for me how an author can set the scenery, a plot and an ending with only 1 page. There were a lot of stories in the book that had me BEGGING for more and you can find my favorites down below.
If you're a horror fan and looking for something fun, creative and creepy to read this Halloween, I'd recommend one of Kevin J. Kennedy's short story books!
