Synopsis
Smart, bookish Belle, a captive in the Beast’s castle, has become accustomed to her new home and has befriended its inhabitants. When she comes upon Nevermore, an enchanted book unlike anything else she has seen in the castle, Belle finds herself pulled into its pages and transported to a world of glamour and intrigue. The adventures Belle has always imagined, the dreams she was forced to give up when she became a prisoner, seem within reach again.

The charming and mysterious characters Belle meets within the pages of Nevermore offer her glamorous conversation, a life of dazzling Parisian luxury, and even a reunion she never thought possible. Here Belle can have everything she has ever wished for. But what about her friends in the Beast’s castle? Can Belle trust her new companions inside the pages of Nevermore? Is Nevermore’s world even real? Belle must uncover the truth about the book, before she loses herself in it forever.

My thoughts
I'm a huge Disney fan and Belle and the Beast is one of my favorites. I've recently been to the movie and I think Emma Watson was great for the role. The story is magical and I love the fact that there is book-love in the book as well as in the movie.
This story actually revolves around the fairy tale but takes a side-road, when Belle finds a book called Nevermore...

Pros
  • Original Characters: One of my favorite parts of Belle and the Beast is the talking cutlery, dishes and furniture. I'm so glad that my favorites were a part in this book as well. Their characters are very strong in this book and I'm glad that they didn't skip that part of the story! I do think Plumette could have a bigger role, she's one of my favorites in the movie!!
  • Love and Death: The story starts and ends with the sisters Love and Death. I think this was a great choice! The sisters have a bet about Belle and the Beast and Death obviously can't help cheating. I love the addition of the sisters. I can totally see a movie happening about this story!
  • Booklove: I always love to read books where the Booklove is a part of the story! I LOVE to see other people raving about books and sharing them with others, like I always do. I love to read that books can bring people closer and that books can actually learn people something about others or themselves.
Cons
  • Ending: We all know how Beauty and the Beast ends. And so the ending wasn't a surprise anymore. Obviously I would've been mad if the ending was different, but it did keep away the tension for me. Just a little mark from my side.
Overall
If you love Disney, fairytales and retellings this is a book for you. It reads pretty quickly and you won't be disappointed if you like Beauty and the Beast. This  book actually has the great addition of the sisters Love and Death. All your favorite characters are present in this book. Just put on your dress or suit, twirl around a bit and start reading this book!

Memorable quotes from this book
"Isn't that what a good story does? It pulls you in and never lets you go."

"Love - real love - sees with the heart, master. Not with the eyes."
The beast looked at him skeptically. "How do you know that?"
"Because I'm in love with a woman who's a feather duster." said Lumiere. "That's how."

"Home is all the people, all the places, and all the things that you love. You carry it wherever you go."

What's your favorite Disney tale?
