Celaena Sardothien is Adarlan's most feared assassin. As part of the Assassin's Guild, her allegiance is to her master, Arobynn Hamel, yet Celaena listens to no one and trusts only her fellow killer-for-hire, Sam. In these action-packed novellas - together in one edition for the first time - Celaena embarks on five daring missions. They take her from remote islands to hostile deserts, where she fights to liberate slaves and seeks to avenge the tyrannous. But she is acting against Arobynn's orders and could suffer an unimaginable punishment for such treachery. Will Celaena ever be truly free? Explore the dark underworld of this kick-ass heroine to find out.

My thoughts
I fell in love with Sarah J. Maas' books when I finished ACOTAR. Have been hooked with the series ever since. I used to get book series from my mom for my bday. She already gave me Harry Potter and I asked for the Throne of Glass series last year and I got them! Yay. When I saw that one of the girls from my book club was looking for a buddy, I decided to read the book together with her. I can tell you; SARAH J MAAS DID IT AGAIN!

Pros
  • Shockingly good: Sarah J. Maas is so good in misleading you. Letting you believe things and have you making assumptions when something totally different is going on. I always try to predict where a book is going and I love it when I'm blown away by the actual plot twist! Me and my buddy have been speculating a lot but when the final blow hit me, I couldn't stop crying and I just love this book SO MUCH. I love Celaena and I want MORE.
  • The feelz: When you're looking for a book that has all the feelz and if you're just as addicted to it as I am; DON'T LOOK FURTHER! It's right here... Love, action, tension, romance, heartbreak, loss, grief...
  • Worldbuilding: This is one of the things Sarah J. Maas is so good at. I never doubt here worlds for one second. It's so alive and I can picture it so vividly. I'm right there to experience the story.
  • Character development: I wasn't sure if I liked Celaena at the beginning of the book, but I came to love her throughout the story. I love the way she is developing in this first book. I can't wait to read about her adventures, the lessons she learns and the way she will develop even further.
  • Doubts: You start doubting yourself, okay?! You think you've figured it out.. Some of the plot twists aren't that hard to see coming but when she has to, Sarah J. Maas will shatter you and all that you had hoped and thought. I love the way I start to doubt myself and my fantasy when I read her books.

Cons
NO!

Overall
I was so ready to fall in love with another series by Sarah J. Maas and I'm so glad I did. She does it again and I can't say anything else, but; THIS WOMAN IS A GENIUS.
Thanks to my buddy, Rachida, for taking this ride with me!
Oh, and I ugly-cried very hard when I finished this book and throughout the book and I had a big ass book-hangover.
