Synopsis
Memories define us.

So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep? Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love - all forgotten overnight. And the one person you trust may only be telling you half the story.

Welcome to Christine's life.

My thoughts
You know you're reading a good thriller when it slowly builds, questions arise and then the last 100 pages you can't be stopped! That's exactly what happened while I was reading this book. So many options were left open, you just feel something is going on, something is not right, but you can't grab it just yet. The last 100 pages are full of tension and I love the feeling when you've figured it out! That's when you know that this was a good read.

Pros
  • Tension: What a good thriller needs, is tension. This book had so many shocking moments while reading. I read this book as a buddyread and we read 30 pages everyday and every day there was a shocking revelation in this book that we needed to talk about. First the tension is there, but under the surface, you can feel it but it's not that much yet and it slowly builds, that's what I love about this book.
  • Lots of options: This book leaves all the plot-options open. I didn't trust any of the characters anymore and you even question the main character, like she does herself. I had no idea where this book was going, so many questions and I tried to answer them but I couldn't. Loved the way that you don't know where this is going.
  • Didn't figure it out: I did see some people on Goodreads who figured it out very quickly, but I didn't and that's what I loved. The last 50 pages or so, I knew where it would be going and the tension was building. Even after I figured out the big mystery, I still had a lot of questions so that's very well done.
  • I want more: Okay so the book ended... And I just want to know more.. This book doesn't need a sequel but just the fact that I'm craving for more and curious what happens the next day, is a very good thing!
Cons
  • Personality: I couldn't really fall in love with Christine as a main character, because she doesn't even know who she is herself. I love to root for someone and I did for her, but she's not my favorite character of all times. I didn't find any particular personality traits that I could identify with, or hobbies or anything. She simply doesn't have them because every day is a new day for her. I just missed the falling in love with the main-character part.
Overall
I want to thank Angelique and Lida for taking this ride with me and doing the buddyread together! It was lovely and so cool that we all had no idea where this book would take us. I'd definitely recommend this book to you, if you like thrillers, suspense and mystery. And even more when you're a bit naïve like I am, ghehe! You won't see it coming...
