Synopsis
NARNIA...where owls are wise, where some of the giants like to snack on humans, where a prince is put under an evil spell...and where the adventure begins.

Eustace and Jill escape from the bullies at school through a strange door in the wall, which, for once, is unlocked. It leads to the open moor...or does it? Once again Aslan has a task for the children, and Narnia needs them. Through dangers untold and caverns deep and dark, they pursue the quest that brings them face to face with the evil Witch. She must be defeated if Prince Rillian is to be saved.

My thoughts
Yep, I am that person that watched the Narnia movies before reading the books. I'm so glad my mom gave me all the books in this series, so I'm able to keep reading about Narnia. I remember really liking the movies, and the books are awesome to read as well. Thanks to Arjen who keeps sticking with me and doing all these awesome buddyreads!
Reading the books in publication order.

Pros
  • New Lands: We venture out of Narnia! In this book you get to know all new kinds of lands and new kinds of creatures. Narnia is filled with awesome creatures, but there is more! It was fun to venture out of Narnia and I do believe it added an extra layer to the books.
  • Loads of adventure: WOW! I do believe this is my favorite book so far. This book is FULL of adventure and it was (for a Narnia book) pretty long as well. Something happened in every chapter, it's also why I'm a bit fond of Children's Books. They are usually a bit more fast paced and a lot is happening.
  • Aslan: I'm glad that this awesome big lion is not gone from the series, since we do had to say goodbye to the Pevensies. But Aslan is still here and I love how important and mighty he is!
  • Evil one: Ooh, I think we're growing into the books. There was actually a very evil witch in this book. Even more so than in book one. I liked the way she operated in the book. And, okay, I knew who she was from the start (when we met her she seemed so nice). But I do have to keep in mind that it IS a Children's Book and it was done very well. This witch felt evil, but it was just enough for young children.
Cons
  • Characters: I'm sorry but I HAVE to whine about this... I MISS the Pevensies. The two main characters in this book are so naive and annoying and whiny and meeeehh... Maybe they grow on you, but they didn't with me. I do really love the Marshwiggle, he's my favorite in this book.
Overall
Even though I don't really like the characters, this is my favorite book in the series so far. I loved the new lands, new creatures and the tons of adventure that are in this book. I believe Narnia is a series for everyone to love. It's easy to read and just 200+ pages to enjoy a nice time reading.

Memorable quotes from this book
"I'm on Aslan's side even if there isn't any Aslan to lead it. I'm going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn't any Narnia."

Thanks for reading!
I'd love to talk books; please let me know what you think about this book/review!
