Synopsis
Three months shy of her eighteenth birthday, Ness is forced to return to Colorado. Even though it’s been six years, and the wolves of her all-male pack don’t recognize her, she recognizes them. People who shun others because of their gender are hard to forget.Especially Liam Kolane—son of Heath, the crudest and cruelest Alpha to have ruled the Boulder Pack. Liam is as handsome as he is infuriating, as kind as he is punishing, and he makes Ness’s traitorous heart race, which isn’t good. After all, he’s a Kolane. Like father like son, right?
When Heath dies, Liam vies to become the new Alpha and no one dares challenge him. Except Ness. Thus begins a treacherous game.
The rules: winner takes all…including loser’s life.

My thoughts
I was so surprised by this book and also by my own reading-speed. I finished the book in 5 days and it's not a small book. That's also a compliment to the author, because the book is easy and pleasant to read.
I can't wait to read more from this series! Will definitely follow this author.

Pros
  • Characters: There are a lot of characters in this book, that's quite understandable with a pack full of wolves. The characters in this book have such a great amount of personality that it wasn't hard for me to remember them, at all. One thing that's always a bit tricky for an author is to make sure that a reader remembers all the characters and there have been a lot of books where I wasn't able to remember them all. The fact that I did remember the characters in this book, is a +1 for the author.
  • Plot: Loved it! I couldn't tell where this was going at all. Ness is sometimes a bit naive and also impulsive which makes the plot have some very unexpected turns as well. I also didn't trust many people in this book and I was so wrong about some of them. The plot turned out great and I was not able to predict this outcome.
  • Pacing: This book is quick and easy to read, like I said before; I was surprised that it only took me 5 days. The pacing is nice and it's also pleasant that there is only information in this book that is necessary for the story.
  • More: I can't wait for the other books to come out and I love the titles from this series already. I am a sucker for a good title and a nice cover, so I was very happy to see that the next book, A Pack of Vows and Tears is coming in 2019!
Cons
Nop.

Overall
I'm pretty sure that any Fantasy/YA lover will like this book. It's such a great start for a series where you have no idea what is going to happen next. It's one of those series that just drags you along and all you're thinking is: "I NEED MORE!"
