Synopsis
Una feels herself changing and for good reason. With new blood and new life comes new responsibility. Against Una’s warnings, Calish takes matters into his own hands. In a desperate act to protect the woman he loves, he makes an irrevocable agreement with the one person in Ashlund he should avoid. But when the promises given to Calish seem to turn against him, Una finds refuge in an unlikely place. All traditions and social status are turned upside down in the blink of an eye and suddenly birthright doesn’t matter so much. There is a secret hidden in the hills, and the rains of Hytalia are not the only storms that Una will be forced to face.

My thoughts
It feels kinda weird, because I gave the first book 3 stars, the second one 5 and this one 3 again. It is going a bit up and down for me, this series. I'm definitely going to finish the series, because I'm curious what will happen next. I just feel like not much was happening for such a long book.

Pros
  • Different places: I like how the different books take place in different settings and places. The second book was so different from the first, and the setting of this third book is very different as well. It's a factor that I really like and I'm curious where the next book will take me.
  • Characters: New characters arrive with every new book in this series. I like getting to know the new characters and I feel like the additions, together with the variety in places are the strongest parts in the series. The fact that there is so much variety makes me curious and keeps me reading.
  • Visions: The visions in this book are adding so much to the story. I like how you see, together with Una, how things can go if she makes certain decisions. I also like the fact that she is being trained in this book to use her gift. It's really becoming a big part of the books and that's a pro for me.
Cons
  • Not much happening: The book is, for my taste, too long for the things that are happening. I felt like it just ambles along and there were two or three things that were really important for the book. It's just one con that I can think of, but it is a big one for me.
Overall
This series is entertaining and makes you curious what is going to happen next. There are a lot of likable characters in the books and with every new book, you meet new characters. The variety in setting is one of the biggest pros for me.

Thanks for reading!
