Synopsis
During the last days of Narnia, the land faces its fiercest challenge—not an invader from without but an enemy from within. Lies and treachery have taken root, and only the king and a small band of loyal followers can prevent the destruction of all they hold dear in this, the magnificent ending to The Chronicles of Narnia.

The Last Battle is the seventh and final book in C. S. Lewis's classic fantasy series, which has been drawing readers of all ages into a magical land with unforgettable characters for over sixty years. A complete stand-alone read, but if you want to relive the adventures and find out how it began, pick up The Magician's Nephew, the first book in The Chronicles of Narnia.

My thoughts
Many, many thanks to Arjen for taking this ride with me. This series is worth reading if you like Fantasy and don't mind reading a children's book. This last book is a worthy finale for this fun-fun series!

Pros
  • Beloved characters: If you remember some of your beloved characters from previous books; you might just meet them again in this book. I love how this final book celebrates some of your favorite characters. It's also nice to meet some of the characters you maybe forgot about. This story felt like a real goodby, especially in the last two chapters.
  • Nice story: The story is so much fun. I liked it a lot right from the start. This series was going up and down a bit for me, but I think this is my favorite book from the series! The story is fun, full of twists and turns and full of great characters.
  • Plot twists: Whoop! We haven't seen THAT many plot twists while reading this series and some of the things happening in the books were predictable. But not in this book. This book actually contained some great plot twists and that's probably why it's my favorite book in the series as well.
  • Great ending: Oh boy. You're left with another plot twist on the last page and it was such a fitting ending. It will leave you with a sad, but satisfying feeling.
Cons
Just crying a little bit that it's really finished.

Overall
At some point, every series should have a great ending. I was ready for this series to end,  but strangely I feel a bit sad as well and that's a great compliment to the author. This final book is a great work of art and I could see myself re-reading especially this final book. I've seen a lot of readers on my blog react that they quit reading somewhere in the middle of the Narnia-series. But I will tell you now; This final book is worth reading the series!

Thanks for reading!
I'd love to talk books; please let me know what you think about this book/review.
