Synopsis
To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife to reach the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the date of two tribes hangs..

My thoughts
Thanks to Arjen for reading this series with me. I don't know if I would've finished the series if I were reading it alone. We both don't feel that positive about Twilight and I think were both happy it's finished now. This book was better than the third book, in my opinion, so that's why I gave it three stars.

Pros
  • Plot: The story had a nice plot! It was easy to get through and I found myself to read chapters pretty fast. The story started nice, I loved how we were in a different setting, and how we were in a little bubble together with Edward and Bella. I loved the all the twists and turns and I liked the plot overall. I'm not a big fan of the ending.
  • Lacking drama: The previous books contained so much drama, it was over the top how pretty someone could be, how much you could love someone. It was over the top how it was pointed out at every page and it made me roll my eyes a lot. I felt that it was a lot less with the drama in this book and I was grateful for it.
Cons
  • Mom?: It was so weird for me how Bella's mom disappeared throughout the books. Like; You've lived with your mom all your life, now you've moved and you're out of contact? She doesn't visit or call or mail and the few times that she was mentioned were easy to count on one hand. I felt like the character and storyline could've been much stronger and interesting as well!
  • Feelings: Even though there was less drama, I still felt like the feelings in this book were still too much at certain points. Everything is extremely bad and life threatening and extremely joyful and happy. It's so in your face that it chokes me at points.
  • Too long: All the books in this series are too long. Take away 200/300 pages and it's fine.
Overall
I'm not sure if I'm making myself popular saying this, but I'm so glad that I've finished this series. Usually you end the great series with a sigh, but now I was just kinda glad. I've seen people hyped about the next book, and I'm definitely curious what they think, but it's just not for me!

Memorable quotes from this book
"You're awfully small to be so hugely irritating."
