Synopsis
Two years ago, one mistake cost Gideon Royal the girl of his dreams. Since then he’s become jaded and stoic, caught in a spiral that has him dealing with blackmail, heartache and loss. When he left for college, he hoped to start over. But fate has other ideas, placing Savannah Montgomery in his path again.

Savannah believes there’s no coming back from Gideon’s betrayal. He thinks she’s wrong.
Forgiveness. Hope. Redemption. Gideon has vowed to win back the only girl who owns his heart. And when a Royal makes a promise, he’ll go to the ends of the earth to keep it.

My thoughts
For a while I really needed time to get used to the Royals series, but I grew into it. I liked the third book the best was excited to listen to this Novella. It's definitely adding something to the characters you know from the series and it was fun to get to know them.

Pros
  • Characters: It was fun to get to know different characters from this series. I found Savannah to be a nice character to get to know, I liked her even better than Ella from the previous 3 books. Gideon was a such a sweet guy. I felt like I didn't know him at all while reading the other 3 books and getting to know him better was a lovely journey. What I also liked is that Gideon did have some things in common with Reed, who is his brother. The typical "Royal-quirks" is what I call them.
  • Past and present: I like how this book switches between the past and the present. We all know that Gideon was doing some things in the other books that were questionable. To switch between now and back in the days, when Gid and Savannah get to know each other was nice.
  • Cute: This was, overall, just a really cute story to me. It was a nice addition to the series and definitely worth reading in-between the books.

Cons
  • Ella: I didn't really like how Ella is glorified in this book by others. I wasn't her biggest fan in the other books and she's treated like she's the almighty person and knows everything and everything is so perfect about Ella. Maybe if you loved her, you would agree, but I'm just not that fond of her.
Overall
A lovely addition to a series that I've grown into. I liked the third book the most. I do remember not being the biggest fan of the characters, but in this book I just loved them both, so I was really glad about that! If you've read the Royals series, or are still reading it, I'd definitely recommend this book!

Thanks for reading!
