Today I will be highlighting two short stories.
Both are written by the same author and are book 1 and 2 in the same series.
Let's dive right in.

This book was quite intriguing to me. There were no written conversations in this book, but I didn't even mind. It was easy to read and easy to follow as well.
There were a lot of dark and awful things happening in this book and that took away some of the fun to read this book. The word Dark in the title is well chosen, but the little parts there was fun, did not add up to the horrible things happening.
The book had an ending that I did and did not see coming. I have no idea if that makes sense, but I think it fitted the book and it does leave open a lot of options for the next book.

The way this book follows the first book in the life of Martha Railer. The way she fills her days and is feeling now was brilliantly written. I was looking forwards to reading chapters about her all the time.
All the other things happening in between; I have no idea. I couldn't follow it, it didn't really make sense and I just also didn't have any feelings towards what happened in between the chapters about Martha. I feel like the first book was much better to follow and the story kinda lost me in this book.
The final sentence in this book was genius, and that would make people curious about the next book. I do think that this series will stop here for me.
Both books were dark and definitely fit for horror lovers.
Did you read any good short stories lately?
