Today I will be highlighting two short stories.
These are two other books in the Little-Known-Heroes series.
Let's dive right in.
A while ago I reviewed a book from The Little-Known Heroes series; William "Dummy" Hoy. I found out that there were two more books in the series. I want to thank the authors for sending me the other two books, because I was really curious!
One thing I can say is that the whole series contains inspiring stories and also quite unknown stories. The book about Claudette Colvin is such an important story to educate anyone on black lives matter. I feel like no one is ever done learning about it and this book definitely helps that.
I was again inspired by the two books and looked up Claudette Colvin and Frank Emi. Claudette is even still alive! I'm wondering what she would think about this book. She would probably be honored.
The book about Frank Emi reminded me of They Called Us Enemy, its about the same part of history. Actually a part that's not so well known, so yet again; this is such an important book.
I do remember that I felt like the book on William Hoy felt cut short, and I felt the same for those two books. I wanted to know more, learn more and maybe there could be a bit more about the later lives of the people. I can't really tell why I feel this way.
For everyone that loves an inspiring picture book; This is the series you want to read. These are little known heroes that really helped make a difference in the world!
