Today I will be highlighting two short stories.
Both of them are picture books with really beautiful illustrations!
Let's dive right in.

The first thing that I noticed is the rhyme in this book. If you've been reading my Two Short Stories for a longer time, then you know I love me some rhyme! It was really well done in this book.
The beautiful illustrations make the book come to life. This is a book with certain behavior lessons. Teaching kids through animals has been very effective, we have been practicing it in The Netherlands for a longer time.
Through this book, kids get to see that people (or animals) who behave bad, sometimes just need a kind word or a good friend. It, in some way, explains bad behavior in a class and the most important lesson is Please treat others how you would like them to treat you. I loved seeing that in this book, since it's been a steady rule in my classroom for years.

Another book with amazing illustrations! So beautiful and HOW CUTE is Eric the Earthworm?! I'm sure kids will love him.
This book contains a lovely lesson as well, that of envy and how to see things differently in life.
One thing I did wonder is, where is Eric's father and does he have brothers and/or sisters? I'm sure kids will wonder/ask as well!
I'd love to see this book featured in kindergarten, because you can really open up conversations and ask the children: What is unique about you? What can YOU do good? And maybe even compliment each other on it!
Both books were fun to read and definitely worth the time.
Did you read any good short stories lately?
