Sorry dear readers for not posting for a while! I was on a mini-vacation of a few days and got sick afterwards. I'm still not feeling well but found some time to read two short stories.
Today I will be highlighting two short stories.
One of them is a cute and fun picture book and the other one is a collection of short stories.
Let's dive right in.
Author: Matthew Loux
Pages: 160
This might be the best short story I've read this year. The first thing I noticed were the amazing illustrations. The drawings are so cute, there is so much to look at, it's so beautiful and fun and I really love this art style.
The story is so much fun. I loved the humor, it had me laugh out loud a few times. I love how kind every one is in this story, it's so refreshing. Finally a book without an evil villain!
I got a warm, fuzzy feeling while reading this book and I felt like the message behind the story is that you can also love your chosen family in life; your friends.
I can't wait to read more by this author, to be honest. I did notice that he wrote more graphic novels and I'm very curious right now.
Pages: 41
I felt like some of these stories were a bit confusing. I think it was because of the writing style, but also because there are no names in this book. I think it's really cool that all these short stories were intertwined, and I did read a little snippet on every single one!
The Witch 4/5
Lots of suspense for such a short story. Did not see this coming.
The Flower Girl 2/5
Very sad story, but I couldn't conned that much.
The Young Fool 2/5
I was a bit confused about what happened, and didn't really understand that well.
The Merchant 4/5
I felt sorry for the merchant who was mistreated just because he was a foreigner.
The Big Man 5/5
Such an evil man that does evil things. It's despicable in every way, but it did make me feel all kinds of things.
The Duke 3/5
I was considering the stories to be linked a few times before, but this story confirmed it for me.
The Mother 4/5
A story, in my opinion, about hope and the love of a mother for her son and of a son for his mother.
The Maid 4/5
Loved the link with the first story and now we learn even more!
The Servant Boy 5/5
A very happy and hopeful story with a sad ending.
The Martyr 4/5
The truth will always come out.
Both books were fun to read and definitely worth the time.
Did you read any good short stories lately?
